Description:
Chugach Chocolates is hiring a full time manager to oversee our order fulfillment and customer service processes.
About Us:
- We are a small but growing chocolate maker, focused on quality chocolate bars and other chocolate products featuring local flavors.
- Our goal is to create products that our customers will love, and operate our business in ways that will enrich the lives of all our stakeholders - our team members, our customers, our vendors, and our community.
- We sell our products to retail partners throughout the state (for a list of current retailers, visit our website www.chugachchocolates.com) and we opened a tasting room in spring of 2023.
- Our chocolate factory and tasting room is located in midtown Anchorage.

About the Job:
We are seeking a manager to:
- Oversee and manage our wholesale and online order fulfillment processes.
- Oversee customer service responsibilities, including
-- managing wholesale customer relationships,
-- composing and overseeing wholesale and retail customer service responses,
-- further developing and documenting customer services protocols and procedures.
- Oversee the customer service aspects of our tasting room, in which we have various chocolate products and flights for sale, as well as our packaged consumer products and gift boxes.
- Work closely with our production manager.
- Oversee the hiring of 1 full time staff member in the short term (in the next 6 months); 1 other staff member in the longer term (6 months to 1 year).
- Periodically provide tasting notes and critical feedback on new chocolate product development (e.g., eating lots of chocolate).
- When needed, help the production team members by performing various production support activities (eg, package bags of hot chocolate, help to organize the warehouse that stores raw materials and finished goods, take periodic inventory of raw materials and finished products, and periodically help with cleaning of facility).
- Full time roll.
- Salary of $55k+ DOE.
- Full time employment benefits include 401k plan with 6% match (with 90 days successful employment), 6 paid holidays per year, and 3 weeks of paid vacation days per year.

About You:
-Work commitment of 40 hours per week
-Have previous professional work experience in at least 2 of the following:
--performing and developing order fulfillment processes,
--performing and developing customer service processes,
--managing, hiring and building team members,
--making chocolate or chocolate products (this role doesn’t typically involve making chocolate, so if you don’t have this one, don’t worry, but chocolate is our thing, so we like all employees to have a high chocolate knowledge; as such, we provide an in-house developed chocolate making training program for all new hires)
- Hard working, good spirited, takes initiative, and works well in teams and small groups.
- Able to lift 50 pound boxes.
