Job Description

Job Description: The mid-level environmental scientist will be responsible for the following:
• Develop and maintain environmental permits and storm water pollution plans (SWPPP)s
• Conduct environmental compliance and SWPPP inspections
• Develop environmental reports including professional arc GIS maps
• Perform high-level technical editing and quality review of reports and plans
• Support team projects, marketing materials, and client communications

Candidate Requirements & Skills: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in the environmental field, including but not limited to:
• Planning and/or assessing project environmental impacts and preparing local, state, and federal permits
• Familiarity with GIS and the ability to produce figures and maps
• Excellent written and oral communication skills along with basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft® Excel and Word.
• Experience in the consulting industry,
• Preparing NEPA permitting documents
• Experience as an ADEC-qualified sampler is a plus.
• Work will include frequent short travel to Cordova, Juneau, or other remote communities in support of port and harbor or utility projects.
• Education shall include an undergraduate degree (Environmental Sciences, Biology, Geology, Engineering related field, or comparable science) with a master's degree a plus.
• Must be based in Anchorage, Alaska
