Painting Framer Specialist

Zantman Art Galleries, Est. 1959 in Carmel CA is seeking a detailed oriented painting framer to join our gallery team. Responsible for creating custom frames for gallery paintings, stretching canvas onto stretcher bar, and creating custom boxes for safe shipping.

Part-Time: 10-16 hrs a week. Flexible hours and choice of days.

Key Responsibilities:

• Measurement & Cutting: Accurately measure and cut wood mouldings using miter table saw.
• Assembly: Join frames using v-nailer.
• Mounting: Utilize brackets to properly secure artwork.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished pieces to ensure they meet gallery-standard craftsmanship.
• Shipping: Create custom boxes to safely ship paintings.
• Hanging Paintings: Assist with hanging paintings in the gallery.

Qualifications & Skills:

• No Experience Necessary: We will train.
• Team Player: Positive attitude, work as a team, and have fun at work.
• High Standards: Must care about doing things the right way.
• Technical Skills: Experience in carpentry is beneficial, but not required. Must be comfortable operating a table saw.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to handling fragile and high-value original art.
• Physical Requirement: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle large art pieces.
