Job Description
This position would be working out of the Watsonville Center, performing a wide range of tasks from facilities maintenance, inventory of gear, vehicle inspections, laundry, young adult development and other assortments of tasks. This is a great job to get started in state service if you have been interested in getting a civil service job.

Below is the duty statement with the break down of the different parts to the Special Corpsmemeber Position.
In all functions, employees are responsible for creating an inclusive, safe, and secure work environment that values diverse cultures, perspectives, and experiences, and is free from discrimination. Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer II, the Office Technician performs the following business and clerical duties:
30% Conduct daily common area inspections to determine maintenance and repair needs. Repair small engines (i.e. weed eaters, chainsaws, augers, etc.) Identify landscaping needs, minor repairs to the facility (i.e. plumbing, electrical, glass, carpentry, etc.) and supervise those that can be repaired by the in-camp crew. For repairs needing the expertise of an outside contractor, obtain three bid quotes from three contractors and report to Administrative Officer. Monitor repairs done by contractors to ensure that work is done according to agreed scope of work.
30% Oversee in-camp Corpsmember to maintain equipment and janitorial supplies inventories and order replacements as necessary. Measure new corpsmembers for uniforms. Issue new and replacement gear and maintain records. Receive and track gear returned from separating corpsmembers. Ensure all cleaning closets are properly stocked with necessary cleaning supplies and any required safety equipment. Ensure accurate and proper Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are posted in all closets, updating as necessary.
25% Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual and annual inspections as required by Operating Manuals to include but not limited to vehicles, equipment, facilities, etc. Conduct periodic inspections to ensure facility maintains cleanliness. Maintain Mileage logs and track equipment usage. Monthly reporting to HQ of vehicle mileage. Maintain vehicle files and update Administrative Officer as needed for repairs. Work with DGS to get approvals for all vehicle maintenance over $500.00.
10% Operate laundry equipment to maintain cleanliness or returned clothing, gear, sleeping bags. Drive corpsmembers to and from State related appointments and classes.
5% Promote Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion: Participate in professional development trainings, as well as work task, trainings and activities that support programmatic and workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion. Other Duties as required to ensure health and safety compliance of facility.
